Hospice Journey: Free Web Sites for Patients and Their Families

I've just discovered yet another online network of support I'm pleased to share with you!  This one is specifically designed for terminally ill people and their families and friends, as they receive hospice care and face end of life choices and transitions.
Hospice Journey is a non-profit technology service offered for free to dying people and their families by The Samvara Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, in collaboration with hospice organizations throughout the United States.  It seeks to help those who are facing a life-limiting illness to live well as they are dying, surrounded by the love and support of their family and friends.  Designed by software engineers (some of whom come from their own experiences with hospice), the service enables families to use the Internet as a rich source of connection, comfort and support ~ by helping them to create their own private, personal Web sites.

The best part is that Hospice Journey websites are free and very simple to set up.  In just a few minutes, you can create a personal website to help you and your family stay connected and receive support. You can use it to share updates, guide meaningful conversations, and let others know how they can help.

Site features include space for updates to keep family and friends informed of what's happening, a place to receive messages of love and support, a photo album, a list of resources about end of life and caregiving, a series of questions to spark conversations about what matters most, and more.
